Iron-bearing dust and sludge resources in steel plants (such as sintering dust removal ash, return ore, blast furnace dust removal ash, steelmaking converter sludge, and other iron-bearing dust and sludge) are waste materials in the metallurgical industry, with an iron content as high as around 45%. Some steel plants discard the dust and sludge, while others recycle them as sintering raw materials. This simple and low-tech recycling method results in artificial materials and energy waste, repeated pollution, and inevitably reduces production efficiency. Therefore, the company has focused on addressing issues such as "the difficulty of forming iron-bearing dust and sludge powder." After years of large-scale testing, the company has successfully developed the "Iron-Bearing Sludge Pellet Binder" product, which requires no drying, offers high strength, and has waterproof properties.
1. Characteristics of the Pellet Binder
1. The binder product is a white solid powder, processed through chemical reactions and physical methods from organic and various chemical raw materials. It is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and free of harmful elements such as sulfur and phosphorus;
2. This binder is suitable not only for forming iron-bearing dust waste in steel plants but also for the forming and agglomeration of mineral powder. It can replace cooling scrap steel, ore, or slag-forming agents, with high alkalinity, low melting point, fast slag formation, stable composition, excellent slag-forming effect, and metallurgical properties that meet the requirements of smelting furnaces for mechanical strength and high-temperature strength;
3. Using this binder eliminates the need to add additional materials such as bentonite, does not reduce pellet grade, requires no digestion, sintering, or drying of raw materials, enables one-time pellet formation, saves smelting solvents, and reduces energy consumption costs.
4. Simple production process: One ton can produce 20-30 tons of pellets. Simply mix mineral powder, dust and sludge, binder, and water in proportion, stir, and form. The product yield reaches up to 95%. Wet pellets do not break when dropped from a height of over one meter, consolidate quickly, and have high strength. Wet pellets can be stacked for 5-7 days before being fed into the furnace for smelting.
5. Features fast consolidation, requires less space, allows stacking of pellets in 3-5 hours, and enables smelting in iron furnaces in 5-7 days. It does not crack under high temperatures of around 850°C. It is currently a new product in the metallurgical pellet binder industry.
2. Price and Storage & Transportation of Pellet Binder
This product is packaged in woven bags, 25kg per bag. It should be protected from water, moisture, and rain to avoid clumping; this product does not deteriorate over long-term storage and is not a flammable or explosive hazardous material.
